Devon property developer Heritage Homes is continuing to lay down bricks and mortar as builders across the country appear to be downing tools.

According to Government statistics, only 120,000 homes were built last year – the lowest since records began and a figure which only goes halfway to meeting the level of demand. Such a downturn once again raises concerns that young people are finding it virtually impossible to get on the housing ladder.

Specifically in relation to the South West, the Department for Communities and Local Government’s ‘Net supply of housing: 2010-11’ report indicated that a ‘similar number of homes were added’ in the region.
